Pellets

Pellets are an environmentally friendly fuel obtained by mechanical processing that transforms dried sawdust into small cylinders with a diameter of 6-8 millimetres. The raw materials used, logs and sawdust, are all certified in compliance with the strict regulations for the protection and guarantee of traceability. The wood used by Mhl comes, in fact, from state-owned forests, with authorized cuts that guarantee forest repopulation. A quality pellet is obtained by continuous extrusion at very high pressures; the cylinders maintain their compactness thanks to the binding force of lignin, a natural substance present in wood, which acts thanks to the high temperatures obtained in the manufacturing process. Our pellets are totally free of chemical binding agents, with a low moisture content, between 6 and 10% and a residual ash content between 0.20% and 0.70%, it has a high caloric value, 5.13 kWh/kg, much higher than other fuels of woody origin.

The quality of our pellets is constantly checked by the certification bodies, which already at the beginning of 2017 issued the En Plus A1 certification, UA005, the first certification issued on Ukrainian territory for pellets in A1, which later became UA017 due to the transfer of the production plant to another area. Mhl is also a certified distributor of EnPlus A1 pellets, with code IT385. In fact, in addition to the production site in the region of Kiev UA, the company has at its headquarters in Piobbico (PU), a warehouse and a bagging plant, where the product belonging to the certified chain is packaged for local distribution and in the national territory. All the processing phases are therefore constantly monitored, from the raw material to the finished product and up to its distribution. Periodically, during the various stages of production and bagging, product samples are taken and sent to the control bodies for the appropriate quality analysis, as required by the certification body.

MHL today produces three types of product, all certified EnPlus A1

• Pellets 100% Light Spruce decorticated, ash max 0,20
• Pellets 100% Spruce Light, ash max 0,40
• 100% Spruce Brown pellets, max ash 0.60.

The pellets, which are easy to handle, are sold in practical 15 kg bags, ideal packaging for home heating, and in 1000 kg bags, mainly used by power plants and large boilers. Mhl also offers the possibility of personalized bagging, for resellers who express the need, with the aim of ensuring careful diversification and protection of the territory.
